The Ansmann AES2 is designed to switch off your attached equipment automatically 1 minute after it goes into standby, this is ideal for TV and Home Entertainment systems.

The other great feature of the AES2 IR Energy Saving Socket is the infrared timer (optional setting); this is essentially a 60 minute countdown timer that monitors the IR signal from your remote control.

If no IR signal is detected for 1 hour, then the remote sensor starts to flash for 60 seconds (to allow you to press any button on your remote to reset the timer), if there is still no remote control activity, then the units switches off your attached equipment.

This is great for automatically turning off equipment that may be left on accidentally, or if you have perhaps fallen asleep in front of the TV!
