The WAP-6012 allows network administrators to deploy a highly manageable, robust wireless network. For advanced installations, this new high-speed Access Point has integrated 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE) support, allowing installation of this device in areas where power outlets are not readily available.
High Security
The WAP-6012 provides the latest in wireless security technologies by supporting both personal and enterprise versions of WPA and WPA2 (802.11i or 11x) with support for a RADIUS server backend. It includes support for up to 8 VLANs for implementing multiple SSIDs to further help segment users on the network. It also includes a wireless client isolation mechanism, which limits direct client-to-client communication.
Multiple Operation Modes
The WAP-6012 is a feature-rich 11n access point that supports AP, Bridge, WDS, and Repeater modes for customized wireless deployments. In WDS mode, the WAP-6012 acts as a wireless bridge to connect separate wireless networks into one. This provides more users with greater access to network resources. In Repeater mode, the WAP-6012 allows extended coverage and greater signal strength for greatly improved distance coverage of the Wireless network (WLAN).
